Are we sure that by using the “latinx” term we are not further reinforcing the misguided notion of people who don’t care that “people from latin america” are “latin people”? Unless people are engaged in intentional identity conversations, “latinx” can easily pass as a typo of “latin”.

You can’t gather up a group of people who are wholeheartedly convinced that something is wrong and they have every right to say that it’s wrong and tell them that they ought not to say what they believe, and instead convince them to say “oh i think it is very good, it’s just that.. XYZ.. so yeah, let’s fix that, and let’s do it”. Because pretending to not want what you actually want can only go so far. The lack of message discipline is almost humorous. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There’s not a single quality open license photo of Korea’s daytime street life on the internet. Which is saying something.

Either the photo is shots of nature of empty streets, with no life forms on sight.
Or a shot specifically framed on a building, an event, a landmark, in a way that it’s clearly not a shot of the street.
Or it’s a night shot.
Or it doesn’t look good; the objects are shaky, or framing is ridiculous.
Not a single shot that captures the moment of people distracted or distraught walking filling the sidewalks, street vendors, cars buzzing by, and the general chatter filling the air.

When the photo meets these criteria, it’s an all rights reserved photography from an artist.

Sometimes, it meets all the above criteria. Until you find out that it’s 800×600 pixels.

These shots are very abundant in the west.

it’s a bit strange because my high school years are a bit of a blur, then the last 2 years are pretty clear (it was the most busy years), then college is generally a bit blurry except for classes taken, then my early years at work are crystal clear – like i remember what happened month by month (mostly what happened at work – but then again, only work stuff happened, mostly), from 2006 to 2009. Then it’s a blur and mixing of years – especially 2009-2013 is very confusing, what happened when, which staff and which interns were around when, except for the 2012 elections work.

Im going to a conferece that starts today to cofacilitate at two sessions, and turns out that until today morning: 1) i recalled the flight as belonging to the wrong airline (i entered my confirmation number to the wrong website first) and 2) i had the order of the two sessions mixed up. I prepared late, and did the one that takes place tomorrow, and havent yet done the one today..

the multiverse doppelganger hypothesis is misleading. the universe is not a random number generator.

just because a combination is possible, doesn’t mean it will naturally occur if you simply wait it out or run it a very large number of times.

oi.. just realized i didn’t have lunch today. i had a heavyweight project looming around 11:30am, said “oh well, might as well.. start..?” then the project rolled over until 3pm, then did a few more things, and i’m like wait a second, did i eat
