so this guy in our group chat sometimes posts photos of food he bought, and unlike the aesthetic photos others post his are terribly framed, angled, poorly lit, etc
Some of us were freaking out and trying to coach him, but at the end I gave up. And as a parody, started imitating his style. Today I made this:
TRUFFLE BUTTER STEAKS
roasted potato wedges, broccoli with Parmesan
It didn’t come out very nice anyway, so made these parody photos imitating the out-of-focus shots, still wrapped in foil, etc. With memes written over them.

How it started
actually back in 2010 i was making these veggie+meat mixed rice bowls.. they tasted fine.. to me. although i was using 0 spices. did i even use salt…? it just didn’t look as good

Ground Beef Bowl
It’s funny because I made this with no master plan altogether, and because of the random ingredients order the squash came out half cooked (I forgot to put the squash, and only threw it in the pan towards the end), etc it was a disaster. But the fried chili oil came in and saved the day.
It’s going on for way too long though

닭칼국수
여행에서 돌아온 후 코로나 검사를 해보려고 이 동네로 찾아왔지만 정보가 잘못되서 검사는 못 받고 바로 옆에 맨날 닭칼국수 배달시켜먹먼 함흥회관이 있는거 보고 다시 먹음. 와 배달시와 직접 와서 먹을 때의 양과 반찬 내용이 백프로 똑같아!
코로나 검사는 이후 마당몰 옆에서 텐트를 발견하고 거기서 받음

How to photograph a flat food to look more appetizing:
- put container into frame for sense of volume
- angle any other objects that add color to the beyond-boke area
- It would have been best to photo when it was boiling, but unfortunately that moment passed
How to make it look less appealing:
- straight up which makes your hands cast shadow over food
