Tom Kha Soup
Tom Kha soup tastes alright but I didn’t like how it smells.. it had this faint scent of rotting/sewage.. maybe it was the combination of coconut milk and the spicy oil? Well, it was a different dish from the usual tried out today so that was nice.
It’s pouring today. Went out just to soak in the vibes a bit.
Ok let’s finally assemble that rowing machine. (Got another one this end of year as apparently.. my August back pain was probably not related to rowing machine exercises?)
after taking some measurements, some initial estimation of different heights are:
3’6″=bellybutton
4’6″=chest
4’11″=neck
5’1″=chin
5’5″=eyejust to help me get a sense of what, for example, a 5′ height means.

Microphone problems
I’ve had this small mic for 7 years, and now every once in a while when I get on Discord voicechat people say the mic sounds terrible. sometimes apparently it’s passable.
but apparently sometimes it glitches like this:
Strangely, on my work Zoom calls no one says anything, but that might be because people are extremely used to terrible mic audio. But maybe it’s an internet connectivity thing, where it’s fine during the daytime but when i’m on voicechat at night there’s more traffic in the neighborhood and voip packets get dropped.
i have another better mic, which I originally bought to do recordings, etc that seems to handle this better when it happens.
It’s big and bulky and takes up a lot of space – I just hope it doesn’t come to a point where I have to rely on this microphone all the time to talk with people.

Dish drying rack
I’ve had this drying rack which I was using in the previous apt as well (one got a bit moldy-ish? and got the same model again)
The problem is the drying rack is that it needs to be cleaned every once in a while, and I can clean the mat when I notice it’s too dirty but the metallic grid is kind of hard to clean. And weird white color rust? mold? type things were accumulating on the corners of the grid, which seemed hard to get rid of.
I was looking for racks online, and there was this approach to drying racks which is instead of draining on a mat and then let the water drain down to the sink by angling the mat, placing the rack directly above the sink. Interesting..
I’m not sure this will require less cleaning, but wanted to try it out and here it is. It was a bit of a mixing and matching things around to ensure the webcam above the cutting board still has a direct line of sight and having the space to hang the recipe where I usually hang it, but I think this setup will do and the fact that the entire rack was completely modular and allows for anything to be placed anywhere (with some limitations) really helps.
